Why Local Matters More Than Ever

On the road with GOTYOU, Summer 2025

We’re four weeks in. Ten of us. One mission: strengthen local communities.

Since June 1, we’ve walked into more than 1,000 local businesses across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia. We’ve had thousands of conversations with everyday people—owners, workers, neighbors.

We’ve logged over 2.5 million steps. In the heat. In the rain. On sidewalks, in parking lots, and through every kind of Main Street.

This isn’t a remote campaign. It’s not theory. It’s not some strategy we’re drafting in a quiet office. This is real life—on the ground, face-to-face, business by business.

The journey started in St. George, Utah. After a fast three-day drive across the country, we met the team we’d spend the summer with. And then we got to work.

We’ve launched GOTYOU in 10 small zones—from South Florida to just outside the White House. We’re connecting people to the businesses that keep their communities going. And we’re rewarding them for it. Not with points. With real cash. Real value.

Local businesses are the backbone of this country. But they’re being squeezed—by costs, by middlemen, by platforms that take more than they give.

GOTYOU was built to push back. To cut Big Tech out of the middle. To make it easier—and worth it—for people to shop local.

And it’s working. The response we’ve seen proves something we already knew:
People want to support local. They just need a better way to do it.

We’re building that way. One step at a time.
